Planet Watching
Low light, splinters through high trees,
Watching the earth return to rock and stone
As we dream on alone
———————–“———————–
Memories, are all that is left for us,
Traces of life that used to wander by
The eyes of you and I, now looking on,
On all that must remain.
———————–“———————–
Low light fading, rising behind us now,
Casting our shadows towards that distant shore
To lives we knew before this;
Just let it be, just let it be.
———————–“———————–
We’re planet watching from the moon,
It all seems upside down too soon.
Lifetime memories survive us,
Our shadows point beyond the light,
Shining now, on our planet in the night.
